Fernand Léger and the Rooftops of Paris

Publication on the recent discovery and restoration of a lost Fernand Léger painting from his Cubist period. This painting – from the series “Fumées sur les toits” (1911–12) – is on the reverse side of the painting “Le Quatorze Juillet” (1912–13), which is part of the collection of the Triton Foundation (The Netherlands).


The newly discovered painting was on display at the Kröller-Müller Museum (NL) from 19 November 2022 until 2 April 2023, together with works by Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Jean Metzinger and Henri Le Fauconnier.
